Lifetime[]

During its lifetime The Neverhood Inc. made three games, The Neverhood, a point-and-click adventure game, Skullmonkeys, a 2.5D platform game, and Boombots, a 3D fighting game. Both The Neverhood and Skullmonkeys recieved positive reviews for its "unique use of claymation, humor and infectious music created by Terry Scott Taylor". Unfortunally, all of these games were commercial failures and sold poorly, leading to the company's shutdown.

History[]

when Doug TenNapel quit Shiny Entertainment after the completion of Earthworm Jim 2. The Neverhood Inc. released their first game, The Neverhood, for the PC in 1996. The game was a critical success but a commercial failure. In 1998, they released a sequel to The Neverhood titled Skullmonkeys, exclusive to the PlayStation. The Japanese version of The Neverhood, renamed "Klaymen Klaymen: Neverhood no Nazo", was released in the same year on the Japanese PlayStation. A year later in 1999, they released Boombots for the PlayStation. This was their third and final game as after the completion of that game the company shut down.
